Spam, Spam and More Spam
This site has been inundated with spam for the past 3 hours, so I’ve had to turn on comment moderation. If you happen to post a comment on any of the articles, it may be a few hours before it appears as I’ll have to approve it before it actually gets posted.
I’m holding off installing any spam filters until Version 2 is ready to go out the door, as I have a number of plugins that I plan to install at that time.
Also, regarding Version 2. I’m slowly making progress. I’ve added a few trick little features to it that have been slowing down the progress a bit. So it’s on the way, but no definitely launch day just yet.
Update: I was forced to install a spam plugin seeing as there have been over 500 comments end up in moderation since yesterday. Hopefully this will solve my problems.

I suggest you install Spam Karma: it takes less than 5 minutes and works perfect.
In the last week I got more than 400 spam-comments and it blocked them all!

I think I’m going to have to go ahead and do that Michele. I’ve gotten over 500 spam comments in the last 24 hours and they’re still coming in. It’s ridiculous!

I hate spam. But so far after installing a few plug-ins I have not gotten any. How did things go after your update above?

I’ve installed Spam Karma and it seems to have done the trick. I haven’t seen one spam comment show up on the page since.

I’m not sure what you’re using but i had the same problem. All you have to do is re-name the post file to something else and change the target for the submit form.
The posting robots know the path to it, that’s why youâ??re getting all that spam. It worked for me

Thanks for the tip Pawel. I’m now using Spam Karma and it seems to be doing the job perfectly.
